Okay, I am the least consistent blogger ever. 
Also, I didn’t send my book to any more publishers. Why? Because a year ago, I decided to self-publish. You know those people who have to control every dang thing around them or they have an OCD freak out? I *might* be one of them.
It all started with cover art. Don’t you hate it when you’re reading a book and the heroine described bears little or no resemblance to the person on the cover? Do you know why? It’s because the publisher hires a commercial artist (who doesn’t read the book) to make the cover. The writer has no say in the cover art. I have this idea in my head of just how each of my characters look, and it would be painful if someone butchered that. So I hired my awesome childhood friend, Julie Jentzsch, to paint the cover, and she did a fabulous job! One hurdle down. 😀
Now the biggest problem with self-published books is usually the editing. I read lots of them because they’re cheap, but the typos get distracting, and sometimes there are bigger problems with the story that a good editor would have caught. I am SO PARANOID there will be errors in my book (this may be more of that OCD thing). Some delightful people have helped by marking up my book for me (Karalee Kochevar, Cortney Kochevar, James Talbot, Teresa Hirst, and Melody Shellman). They’ve helped me make this book better, if not error-free. And though I am tempted to just keep editing it forever, today I completed the FINAL draft! 😮
As to actual publication date, I still don’t know! But I will keep you posted…for reals this time.
