Help! I’m addicted to rank checking and I can’t stop! It all started when I ran a freebie weekend for Elissa Blue. I broke into Amazon’s top 100 free books. Yes, I did take a screenshot to prove it. No, I can’t find it within myself to be ashamed. My hypercompetitiveness kicked in then and there. Now every time my rank goes up, I am giddy with glee, and each time it falls I am battling despair. I know it’s not healthy. I know I need to quit. Checking one’s rank multiple times a day is OCD at best, and egomaniacal at worst (no, I’m not a psychologist, I just like to throw around terms from DSM-5 because it’s fun). But seriously, somebody please impart some wisdom to help break my ranking addiction!
I’m giving away 3 paperback copies of my book Elissa Blue! 😮 Anyone in the United States 18 and older is eligible (sorry my international friends; next giveaway will include you). At the end of next week, Amazon will let you know who won and mail out the prizes. Good luck to you all! 😀

Oh delightful readers, you have no idea how big I’m grinning when I read your reviews! Thank you so much for taking the time to both read my book and review it! To those of you who contributed snippets from the meme below, please consider this gratitude plus! Plus what, you ask? I don’t know…chocolate? A hug? Thanks for helping me get my book out there. And if you do manage to track me down, chocolate or a hug are yours. 😀
Dear Amazon, you are awesome in so many ways, but today, it’s because of the lovely package you sent me! Glossy paperback covers of my book! Not to snipe at Barnes and Noble, but dang, yours are prettier! Thank you Kindle Direct Publishing! 😀 😀 😀
Oh yeah! And remember that $25 Amazon gift certificate giveaway for those of you that post links to your review of my book? Lol…nobody has posted a link. I haven’t decided if this means I get to keep the gift certificate or if I should just choose one of my reviewers to reward on March 1st. I am taking suggestions. Or one of you could just post a link to your review and be the automatic winner! 🙂
Thank you Amazon technical support for helping me figure out my goof in the wee hours this morning! Now my publishing duties are over until Book Two comes out. 😀 Probably. Except that I haven’t actually seen a physical copy of the book…hmm. That impatience thing may be affecting my judgment again—sigh. I have this lovely vision of myself white-haired, wrinkly, and wonderfully patient…just not there yet. Until then, I hope you can all have patience with my impatience! 😉
